"Please cook my favourite dishes. Who knows? I may never get to enjoy your cooking again, or may never return."

These were student Fatin Iqmal Idziyani Che Aziz's words to her mother, Rapidah Mat Rani when she returned home in August last year, from Mu'tah University in Jordan for the Aidilfitri holidays.

The 21-year-old, third-year student's words were prophetic.

Yesterday, Fatin Iqmal - Rapidah's youngest child from her first marriage - was one of three Malaysian students killed when the car they were travelling in, collided with an oncoming car at Safawi, not far from Mafraq town Saturday morning (local time).

The other two who perished in the crash were Hana' Azaha and Al Najiatun Nailah Mohd Shafie. Two other injured Malaysian students, Fatin Nor Syahirah Ramli and Izam Hasif, who were in the car have been warded at Mafraq Government Hospital.

"Fatin Iqmal's words are still haunting me. She was acting strange when she returned for the Aidilfitri holidays.

"Fatin Iqmal, who aspired to become syariah lawyer was extra loving and she rested her head on my lap and hugged me tightly when she was home.

"My daughter was never like that before. With her passing, I realise it could have been a parting sign," said Rapidah, 47, a food stall operator at the Pudu Plaza in an interview with Bernama here Sunday.

She said Fatin Iqmal, who was pursuing a degree in syariah, fiqh and theology at the Mu'tah University was expected to complete her studies next year.

She added that the family had told the Mu'tah University Student Affairs Department to send the body back for burial at her hometown in Kampung Lenggong, Perak.

Meanwhile, Baitumal division deputy manager Ahmad Talmizi Yahya when met at Rapidah's Sri Selangor flat said Baitumal would contribute RM3,000 to help with Fatin's burial.
