A Malaysian currently residing in Sydney, Australia is proposing for the government to recognise the contributions of Malaysians regardless of race and religion by naming the roads after them.

Designer, storyteller, and diversity advocate Kevin Bathman uploaded several photos on his Facebook showing a series of road signs highlighting the unsung heroes of Malaysia.

“To be honest, I did it for fun. I keep track of what’s happening in the country and I respond by giving an artistic perspective. I also think of the contributions made by Malaysian personalities regardless of race and religion.

“This is the time for their contribution to be recognised,” said Bathman when contacted by Astro AWANI.

When asked about the list of names, Bathman said it was chosen as they appeal to all Malaysians.

“There are of course other names but this is also a way to start a conversation. Some may and may not agree with my list. For example, some may disagree with the inclusion of Ambiga Sreenevasan, but this is a start to get feedback,” added Bathman.
