AZEEZ: The one-stop centres have been created to facilitate the pilgrims, who no longer need to queue up just to check-in at the airports, and will reduce the waiting time.
Tabung Haji (TH) will set up one-stop centres to facilitate Hajj pilgrims to check-in before leaving for Mecca.
Its chairman Datuk Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim said the centres would be set up in several states that did not have special departure complexes, and were providing direct flights for pilgrims to Mecca.
"The one-stop centres have been created to facilitate the pilgrims, who no longer need to queue up just to check-in at the airports, and will reduce the waiting time.
"We'll find some of the best ways to keep the congregation feel less tired, and able to perform the fifth pillar of Islam in the best possible manner," he told reporters at the Sultan Ismail Petra Silver Jubilee Islamic Complex here, Saturday.
Abdul Azeez also attended a briefing by Kelantan TH director Wahyudin Tamami on the operations carried out in the complex.
Abdul Azeez said so far, Sabah, Sarawak, Kedah, Penang and Terengganu had their own special departure complexes.
He said the first one-stop centre was established at Sultan Ismail Petra Silver Jubilee Islamic Complex in Kelantan, and it would be followed suit by those in other states.
A total of 960 pilgrims from the state will leave for Mecca via six 'direct transit' flights from Sultan Ismail Petra Airport Pengkalan Chepa-Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)-Medina/Jeddah from Aug 16 to Sept 3.
