Netizens offer their condolences on social media following an inferno at Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah Tahfiz Centre here this morning which killed about 23 lives.
Netizens expressed their dismal and disappointment over the inferno on social media.
They questioned the safety of tahfiz centres nationwide as there have been cases of centres on fire previously.
“We are sad, but incidents as such have happened before. Fire and safety regulations must be tightened. There should be no compromise. Life is precious,” tweeted a netizen, Ray.
Netizens added, authorities should investigate the cause of fire and find solutions to ensure such an inferno does not happen again in the future.
Netizens also urged the authorities to provide emergency routes in order to better handle such fires.
Dean Mohammad said, “Tahfiz schools need to be reassessed. There have been many cases of tahfiz schools on fire. Investigate the cause of fire so it does not happen again in the future.”
“Escape routes, fire alarms, sufficient fire exercises are implemented in tahfiz schools? And if needed, fire drills must be conducted to prevent this disaster.”
