Tahfiz pupil death: PM instructs thorough investigation

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, expressed his sympathy and condolences to the family of a tahfiz student, Mohamad Thaqif Amin Mohd Gaddafie, 11 , who passed away this evening.
Datuk Seri Najib, via his Facebook has directed a thorough investigatio to be carried out and action is instructed to be taken on those responsible.
"I'm sad to receive the news of Mohd Thaqif Amin's departure. Condolences to the family and God willing, Dr Asyraf Wajdi will represent me when Thaqif is laid to rest.
"I want this case to be investigated so that we know what had caused his death and legal action will be taken should there any foul play took place," he wrote.
Meanwhile, Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar, via an updated Twitter status said the case will now be investigated under section 302 penal code.
"PDRM has been classified this case to be investigated under section 302," Khalid wrote.
PDRM is now waiting for full medical report to complete the report on the investigation.
The news on Mohammad Thaqif Amin who was warded at the hospital last Wednesday became viral on social media upon experiencing pain in the legs due to the alleged assault by the assistant warden at his religious school hostel in Kota Tinggi, Johor.
He died today at 2.05pm at the hospital.
