The father of a victim who was injured in the fire at the Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah Tahfiz Centre, Jalan Keramat Ujung, here on Thursday is still confident with the centre and will allow his son to return there to study.
Wan Nor Hisham Wan Jaafar, 47, said his son Wan Muhammad Danish Hisham, 14, would return to study at the centre after fully recovering from his injuries.
"I believe after the incident, they (centre) will be more vigilant especially in terms of the safety of the students and teachers.
"As such, I still believe and am confident with the centre and, god willing, my son will return to study there," he said when met by reporters at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital here.
Asked about his son's condition, Wan Nor Hisham said he was still traumatised by the incident and was silent.
"Physically, Danish is recovering but he is still traumatised and he is still afraid to speak and always cried when he mentioned the incident.
"I was told by doctors that Danish can be discharged soon and I am planning to take him home to Pasir Mas, Kelantan," he said.
Wan Nor Hisham said, the third of five siblings, was only scorched on the ear and nose during the fire.
Twenty-one students and two teachers-cum-wardens at the centre perished in the 5.15am incident. - BERNAMA
