Tan Sri Awang Had Salleh has passed away

Famous academician Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Awang Had Salleh passed away at 3.03am today.
He was 79.
According to a report in Berita Harian which quoted his daughter Datin Norazlina Awang Had, his body will be buried in Putrajaya.
He is also the father-in-law of the current Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan.
He begun his illustrious career as a school teacher in 1950s before becoming a lecturer in University Malaya.
In 1984, he became the first Vice Chancellor of Universiti Utara Malaysia.
Among his works include a short story ‘Merah Kuning Biru’ and a novel ‘Biru Warna’.
