Tan Sri's son burns himself to death

'See you on the other side!'
This was the last text message that a prominent Tan Sri’s son sent to his girlfriend before taking his life by setting himself on fire.
The 20-year-old’s body which was 80 per cent burnt, was found at the balcony of his a condominium in Taman Tun Dr Ismail early this morning.
The New Straits Times reported that the man poured petrol over himself before setting himself aflame at the balcony of his room.
He was reportedly studying in a university in New Zealand and is here on a holiday.
According to Bernama, the mother of the victim saw smoke rising from the balcony upon waking up at around 4am.
She forced open the locked iron grill to the balcony only to discover her son’s charred remains on the floor.
Bernama also quoted a source saying that the man had been depressed over his relationship with a girlfriend.
The police also found two cans of petrol and a handphone which showed that the victim had sent a short-message-service (SMS) to the girl saying, "See you on the other side".
Brickfields district police chief ACP Azlee Abdullah, in confirming the death to Bernama, said that the police have classified it as sudden death.
The body had been sent to University of Malaya medical centre for post mortem.
