Part 8 - Taxi!

Last week, Putrajaya awarded 1,000 individual permits to taxi drivers after industry pressure groups started highlighting the problems faced by the drivers. And not only that, the government has also previously given out tyre subsidies under the Teksi Rakyat 1 Malaysia (TR1M) scheme.

While on the Lembah Pantai campaign trail, I bumped into two taxi drivers, James Sundram and Navanathan, who offered to tell me their story over coffee in a stall in Lucky Garden, Bangsar. Apparently, things still aren’t as hunky dory as it seems.
