Teacher dies in Sabah road accident

A teacher died after the car he was driving collided with an express bus here today, police said.
Ahmad Firdaus Husin, 31, was driving his Toyota Vios car from Telupid to Sandakan when the accident occurred at 2.35 pm at KM4 of Jalan Telupid-Ranau, said Beluran Police chief Supt Sivanathan Velautham.
"The impact of the crash resulted in the car being dragged for about 50 metres," he said, adding that Ahmad Firdaus' body was removed from the vehicle by firemen and sent to the Telupid Hospital.
He said the 29-year-old bus driver was detained to assist in the investigation.
Ahmad Firdaus, who hailed from Melaka, was a teacher at Sekolah Kebangsaan Wonod, Telupid, here, he said.
