Teachers involved in illegal activities including supporting terrorists would not escape legal action from the authorities, said Deputy Education Minister Datuk Chong Sin Woon.
He said the ministry would take immediate action if any teacher was found to have the tendency to support terror groups.
"I warn all teachers under the Ministry of Education to not engage in any Daesh activities. Therefore, do not abuse the social media by giving any signal or be influenced by the Daish terror group. They must use the social media in good ways," he said at the Education Ministry's 2017 Education Tour, here, on Saturday.
Also present at the event was Negeri Sembilan Education director, Rusni Ab Jalil.
Chong made the statement in reference to a secondary school counselling teacher who claimed trial at the High Court on Friday to two charges related to Daish activities, last year . - BERNAMA
