Teachers have been advised to not cooperate with parties that leak examination questions.

National Union of the Teaching Profession (NUTP) president Hashim Adnan said teachers who did so were dishonest is carrying out the duties entrusted upon them.

“We don’t want teachers abetting with criminals. We regard those who leak exam papers as criminals because they are not sincere, dishonest and have no integrity.

“It’s stated on each package that the examination paper is confidential, meaning it should not be disseminated to anyone.

“But if any teacher spreads the information and it is proven that the said teacher was directly involved, disciplinary action can be taken,” said Hashim when contacted by Astro AWANI on Wednesday.

He said the NUTP is willing to cooperate with the Education Ministry and the Examinations Board to investigate if any teacher had been involved in this crime.

Hashim also urged the enhancement of security measures to avoid incidents such as this from repeating.

On Wednesday, the Examinations Board announced that the UPSR Science papers 018, 028, 038 would be postponed to Sept 30 due to leakages of its questions on the internet.

The papers were originally slated for Sept 11.

This is not the first time examination questions were leaked to the public.

Last year, a report had been made after the Mathematics and Additional Mathematic papers of the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia examination (SPM) had allegedly been leaked during a seminar.

Police later denied the incident, saying the questions were only prediction questions.
