The term 'Team Johor' is not to replace the concept of 'Bangsa Johor' which has been widely used and accepted in the state, as the two terms carry different meanings.
Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said Team Johor referred to those who agreed to uphold the same aspirations and objectives in the effort to develop Johor.
"Bangsa Johor...refers to all Johoreans, but Team Johor is for those who hold the same aspirations and objectives to develop Johor.
"It's very unfortunate that I have to clarify the meaning of Bangsa Johor and Team Johor here (State Legislative Assembly sitting)," he said in reply to Aminolhuda Hassan (Amanah-Parit Yaani) on the term 'Team Johor' which appeared to be replacing Bangsa Johor at Johor State Legislative Assembly sitting in Kota Iskandar here Thursday.
Mohamed Khaled said the question raised by the opposition on the term Team Johor clearly showed they did not want to be in the team to develop the state.
"When the assemblyman said it was enough with just 'Bangsa Johor' and there was no need for 'Team Johor', it clearly showed that he did not want to join Team Johor," he said. -- Bernama
