Tebrau MP tries luck in Puteri Wangsa

JOHOR BAHRU: Tebrau MP Steven Choong Shiau Yoon is trying his luck at the state constituency level by contesting the Puteri Wangsa seat in the Johor state election.
The Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) candidate is facing five other candidates namely Tebrau MCA chief Ng Yew Aik who is representing Barisan Nasional (BN), Loh Kah Yong of Perikatan Nasional, Khairil Anwar Razali of Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang) and Amira Aisya Abd Aziz of Parti Ikatan Demokratik Malaysia (MUDA).
The other is Independent candidate Adzrin Adam.
Their names were announced by assistant returning officer at the nomination centre at Dewan Raya Taman Pelangi Indah here today.
Choong, who won the Tebrau parliamentary seat in the 14th General Election (GE14) under PKR ticket when met later said his experience as an MP could help the community in the Puteri Wangsa constituency, which is one of the two state constituencies in the Tebrau parliamentary constituency.
Early voting is set on March 8, while polling is on March 12.
In GE14, Mazlan Bujang (PH-Bersatu) won the Puteri Wangsa seat in a five-cornered fight.
