Teen charged with sodomising 6-year-old

A teenager claimed trial at the Ampang Sessions Court today to a charge of sodomising a six-year-old boy two years ago.

The accused who was 16 at the time the offence was committed is alleged to have sodomised the victim in a bedroom at a house in Hulu Kelang on Feb 27, 2010.

Deputy public prosecutor Nadiah Malek Fauzi had proposed for bail to be set at RM20,000 with one surety.

However, the accused who was unrepresented pleaded to the court to reduce the bail sum.

The teen's father who stood as bailor requested for the bail amount to be reduced as he did not earn much and had five children to support.

Judge Manira Mohd Nor later set bail at RM8,000.

The case is set for mention on Dec 3.
