The 17-year-old girl, Maisarah Zainol, who was reported missing since Sept 22 returned home safely last Friday.
Her father, Zainol Ibrahim, 56, said a woman in Lumut, Perak called him last Friday, claiming to be Maisarah's 'adopted sister' and said that Maisarah was with her.
"At first, I don't quite believe her, but she said she would send Maisarah home by bus and asked us to wait at Sungai Petani bus station that night," he told reporters today.
He said one of his family member waited for the bus to arrive that night and found Maisarah safe and sound as promised by the woman.
Zainol said he had also withdrawn the missing person report, which he lodged at Kuala Muda Police headquarters, yesterday. Maisarah was reported missing after attending tuition at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Kota Kuala Muda on Sept 22.
