Teenager beaten to death in Sabah after a date with girlfriend

A teenage boy was beaten to death in Tawau, Sabah for going out for a date with his girlfriend.

Tawau police chief ACP Fadil Marsus said the victim, identified as Mohd Ayieruchizamsyah Lambang, 16 was a student at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kuhara, Tawau.

He said the incident occurred on Sunday afternoon in the field of a park in Tawau at 6pm.

Initial investigations led to the arrest of a suspect, aged 18 who do not have identity documents.

The suspect is the brother of the victim's girlfriend. Police believe the suspect was furious after finding out that the victim had gone out on a date with his sister.

The suspect is alleged to have punched and hit Mohd Ayieruchizamsyah with a piece of wood.

The victim had then ran back home to save himself. He also informed his mother about the incident.

However, he was found dead in a room by his mother the next morning.

The suspect has been arrested and will be remanded under Section 117.

The body was sent to the Tawau Hospital for post mortem.
