Teenager dies after being hit by ETS train
Mohd Afendy Aziz, was trying to cross the railway tracks to go to a shop when the incident occurred.
A teenager was killed after he was hit by an Electric Train Service (ETS) train heading from Padang Besar to KL Sentral at KM114.25, near, Jitra, Sunday.
Kubang Pasu district police chief Supt Abd Rahim Abdullah said in the 4.30pm mishap, the victim, Mohd Afendy Aziz, was trying to cross the railway tracks to go to a shop.
"Due to the impact, parts of his body were scattered about a kilometre. The train stopped for a while after incident but since there were passengers on board, the train continued it journey. The victim's house is next to the railway tracks," he said in a statement.
The case is being investigated as sudden death. The body was sent to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital mortuary.
Meanwhile, KTMB corporate communications manager Siti Badariah Wan Hanafi said the train was en route from Padang Besar to KL Sentral.
The train was delayed by 30 minutes due to the accident, she said.
