Teenager drowns, another still missing in Sungai Terengganu

A teenager drowned while his friend went missing while bathing in the Terengganu river near Kampung Getang, Telemong, here today.
The body of Mohd Atiqullah Idris, 14, was found at about 7.20 pm by a rescue team, while Abdul Hadi Abd Ghani, 14, is still missing.
Both of them are from Kampung Pak Madah, Marang.
The duo, along with eight other friends, were returning from a wedding and stopped at the river for a swim, when the incident occurred at 4 pm.
It is learnt that the location was the site for sand-mining works and the water was deep.
Operations Commander for the Kuala Berang Fire and Rescue Department, Saparisan Ramli, said search operation for the missing victim was ongoing. -- BERNAMA
