The Election Commission (EC) today announced that the polling day for the Teluk Intan parliamentary by-election will be held on May 31.
EC Chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof who announced the date, also said that the nominations will be held on May 19.
He added that early voting will be held on May 27.
The Teluk Intan by-election is being held, following the death of its parliamentarian, DAP's Seah Leong Peng, 48, from cancer at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre last Thursday.
At the 13th General Election, Seah defeated Gerakan president Datuk Mah Siew Keong who was BN candidate, and independent candidate K. Moralingam with a majority of 7,313 votes.
