It is unfair to continue making a notion that the police force is the largest group of enforcement personnel involved in corruption.

It is unfair to continue making a notion that the police force is the largest group of enforcement personnel involved in corruption.

"It can be the Kuala Lumpur City Hall officers or it can be enforcement officers of (other) local authorities. This is because enforcement officers involved many people.

"Corruption can only be curbed if the person giving the bribe stops such practice," Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor told reporters at the Parliament lobby here on Wednesday.

He was commenting on the effectiveness of the Global Corruption Barometer Transparency International 2013 by Transparency International Malaysia (TI-M) on Tuesday.

According to the survey shown, of the 1,000 people from September 2012 to March this year, only 31 per cent believed in the government to curb corruption,as compared to 49 per cent in 2011.
