Only four primary schools will be closed tomorrow in Terengganu in the wake of floods in the state, according to Terengganu Education Department director, Shafruddin Ali Hussin.
He said two of the schools, Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kompleks Gong Badak and SK Bukit Guntong in Kuala Nerus, were being used as relief centres for the flood victims.
"In Setiu, SK Sungai Las remains closed because there is electrical wiring problems which may be unsafe, while another school in Kuala Terengganu, SK Banggol Peradong near Manir has also been turned into a relief centre.
"The closure of the four schools involves 1,970 pupils, 180 teachers and 28 support staff," he said when contacted by Bernama.
All schools in Hulu Terengganu and Besut which were badly hit by floods last week would open tomorrow after cleaning-up works were completed this evening, he added. -- BERNAMA
