Terengganu Pas wants HQ's stand on 'Allah' issue
For the dignity of Islam, Kuala Terengganu Pas suppporters want their leaders at the party headquarters to explain their stand on the word, 'Allah', which was raised by DAP.
A group of dissatisfied Pas followers held a peaceful demonstration in front of the Tengku Tengah Zaharah Mosque in Kuala Ibai here today, to demand the stand of the Pakatan Rakyat Presidential Council to resolve the issue which has protracted for too long.
They also carried banners and shouted, 'Allahhuakhbar', demanding that Pas leaders not give in to DAP chairman Karpal Singh and its secretary-general, Lim Guan Eng, for playing the Allah issue for political expediency.
The group's leader, Zamri Yaacob, 42, demanded that the Pas leadership state, under which Islamic rule Pas members assisted DAP in the coalition in the coming 13th General Election.
"As a Muslim, we are compelled to seek a clarification from the Pas headquarters in our efforts to uphold Islam.
"We, as Pas members, are telling the Pas leadership to be firm in its stand and to withdraw from Pakatan Rakyat as it has damaged the Malay unity and sanctity of Islam," he told reporters at the demonstration.
