Terengganu Sultan wants Muslims to avoid feuds and factionalism

The Sultan of Terengganu, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin has called on Muslims to avoid quarrelling among themselves and forming factions.
He said Muslims should have an open attitude and practise tolerance so that they could live in peace with mutual respect, hence receiving the blessings of Allah.
"With the Maulidur Rasul celebration this year being 'Islamic Solidarity the Foundation of Muslim Unity', it is only apt to make Prophet Muhammad as the best example.
"The Prophet's outstanding personality, noble character and special qualities had shaped mankind.
"The Prophet did not use force but changed people by being exemplary and armed with the spirit of brotherhood, love and care for the welfare of the community, which led to the formation of a souvereign Islamic community in Madinah," the Sultan said.
Sultan Mizan was speaking at the state-level Maulidur Rasul celebration, here, today.
He said Prophet Muhammad had left mankind, two legacies, namely the Quran and Sunnah (sayings and teachings of the Prophet).
"Therefore, I would like to remind the people in conjunction with this hallowed occasion of the Prophet's birthday, let us always work towards bolstering the Muslim community through strength in faith, the economy, knowledge and unity.
"If there are differences of opinion or friction, we should immediately return to the guidance in the Quran and Sunnah," he said.
Earlier Sultan Mizan, Sultanah Nur Zahirah and their daughter, Tengku Fatimatuz Zahra' were welcomed on arrival for the celebration by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman and his wife Toh Puan Seri Halina Zakaria. -- Bernama
