PAS will not employ the same method used by Barisan Nasional (BN) during the Perak political crisis five years ago to resolve the current one in Terengganu, according to its deputy president Mohamad Sabu.

Mohamad assured that the party will use ‘the right way’ by way of a vote of no confidence at the Terengganu State Assembly.

“We will follow the right method. There needs to be a vote of no confidence towards the Terengganu Menteri Besar at the state assembly.”

“What BN did in Perak was wrong – we will not resort to methods that are unlawful,” he told Astro AWANI today.

BN may be forced to seek the dissolution of the Terengganu assembly following the defection of at least three UMNO assemblymen, including former Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said who resigned from his post last night.

Meanwhile, PAS secretary general Datuk Mustafa Ali refused to comment on the unfolding political crisis in Terengganu when contacted by Astro AWANI

“I will not make any statement now. I’m following the developments in Terengganu closely.”
