"There is no forgiveness for them. We will proceed to take action" - IGP

Police will proceed to take legal action against the two Twitter users found to have posted insulting remarks against the Royal Malaysian Police, even though one of them has tweeted an apology.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar today said the police would continue investigating the two individuals under Section 233 of the Communication and Multimedia Act 1998 and Sedition Act 1948.

"There is no forgiveness for them. We will proceed to take action," he told Bernama when contacted here today.

He said this in response to the apology made by Viktor Wong, who tweeted: "Hello both @PDRMsia @KBAB51, I am retracting the suggestion on the bastardization and apologize to you and all your members of the force".

Yesterday, Victor Wong also tweeted: "Bastardization of @PDRMsia. Thanks to the ruthless@KBAB51. Henrich Himmler of Malaysia".

Heinrich Himmler was among the most feared individuals under the Nazi rule in Germany.

Khalid said legal action would also be taken against the another individual, known as Nasrul Omar, who was also found to have tweeted insulting remark against the security force, even though he already deleted the tweet from his account.

In his deleted tweet, Nasrul also called Khalid a 'Barisan Nasional dog'. As such, Khalid instructed the Police Cyber Investigation Response Centre (PCIRC) of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to identify the Twitter users concerned and action to be taken against them.
