Thief 'shocked' while trying to steal power cable
A 40-year-old man was electrocuted while trying to steal cable in Kampung Muhibbah, Bukit Jalil at 4.30am this morning.
Cheras District Police chief ACP Mohan Singh Tara Singh when contacted said the victim, who also has past criminal records, leaves behind a wife and three children.
Mohan Singh said the victim's body was later sent to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for post mortem.
In a separate incident, Mohan Singh said an Indonesian construction worker was feared drowned after falling into the water during a fishing outing with his friends at a former mining pool in the same village on Thursday evening.
During the 5.30pm incident, Mohd Sain, 39, was believed to have slipped while trying to fix his fishing hook, he said, adding that the search and rescue operation was being carried out by the Bukit Jalil Fire and Rescue Department, Civil Defence Department and police.
