Three buddies plead not guilty to armed robbery

Three friends pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court here on Friday to committing armed robbery involving seven victims at Seberang Perai Selatan in January.
Wong Sin Ye, 29, of Kuala Lipis, Pahang, Rajan A/L Pennerselvan, 28, and Lee Wee Kuan, 30, of Klang, Selangor were charged with another person still at large, with committing the offence armed with a Walther PP cal.7.65 pistol on January 12, 2014 at 5.30am, at a house at number 340 in Jalan Tasek, Kampung Valdor,
Sungai Bakap.
The charge under Section 4 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971, provides for life imprisonment, and caning of not less than six strokes.
Sessions Court Registrar Faiz Md Zaini fixed April 7 for re mention and ordered the accused to be further remanded at the Penang Prison as the case was not bailable.
Deputy public prosecutor Maziyah Mansor prosecuted while Lee was represented by counsel Gobind Singh Deo; Wong and Rajan were not represented.
