Three dead, one seriously injured after crane topples on SUKE highway

KUALA LUMPUR: Three foreign workers were killed and one road user was seriously injured after a crane component fell at the Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Highway (SUKE) construction site at Jalan Alam Damai, here, today.
SUKE developers confirmed the crash happened early in the morning, on Monday.
“Preliminary investigations found three construction workers died while a local road user was injured in the incident.
"The incident is understood to have occurred when one of the gantry crane components fell but the cause of the incident is still under investigation," it said in a statement.
Elaborating further, SUKE said its Emergency Response Team and firefighters had closed traffic in both directions and rescue work was underway.
