Three engineering students nabbed for alleged possession of ketum juice

Three mechanical engineering students of a public higher learning institution were detained for alleged possession of ketum juice in a house in Bandar Behrang 2020, Tanjung Malim about 120 kilometres from here, last night.
Muallim district police chief Supt Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof said the suspects, aged between 18 and 19, were picked up by a police team about 8.45pm.
"Checks at the house kitchen led to the discovery of 14 plastic packets and three bottles suspected to be containing ketum juice which were placed in a polystyrene container under the kitchen sink," he said in a statement here today.
Wan Kamarul Azran said all the suspects, who were tested negative for drugs, had obtained the supply from Manjung before selling the items.
The suspects were being investigated under Section 30(3) of the Poisons Act 1952.
