Three in family perish in NSE accident near Rembau
Initial investigations revealed a Toyota Camry, on its way from Ayer Keroh, in the extreme right lane, skidded and grazed a Toyota Vellfire in the middle lane, causing both vehicles to skid to the left side of the highway. --fotoBERNAMA
A pregnant woman was among three people killed in an accident involving two vehicles at KM229.5 of the (PLUS) North-South Expressway northbound near the Pedas-Linggi toll plaza here this morning.
The deceased were identified as Keng Swee Nee, 40, who was four months pregnant, Keng Swee May, 30, and Keng Kim Seng, 76.
While Swee Nee and Swee May succumbed to head and body injuries at the Seremban KPJ Hospital, the septuagenarian was killed on the spot in the 9.30am crash in which six other people were injured, one seriously.
Rembau police chief DSP Ibrahim Shariff said initial investigations revealed a Toyota Camry which was on its way from Ayer Keroh in the extreme right lane skidded and grazed a Toyota Vellfire in the middle lane.
"The impact caused both vehicles to skid to the left side of the highway and a rear passenger in the Toyota Vellfire was killed on the spot," he said in a media statement here.
He said the driver of the Toyota Camry was seriously injured with a broken leg while the driver and four other passengers in the Toyota Vellfire who sustained head and body injuries were sent to the hospital.
