Three government officers remanded for alleged corruption

Three government officers based in Johor and an unlicensed cooking gas dealer were remanded for five days from today to assist investigations into a bribery case.
Magistrate Salina Omar issued the remand order applied by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on the men aged between 30 and 40, under Section 17(a) of the MACC Act 2009.
The media today reported that the three officers were detained at their workplace in Johor Bahru and Kota Tinggi respectively, between 8am and 10am yesterday while the illegal gas dealer was detained at his house in Kulai at about 8.20am the same day.
