Three killed, RTM cameraman injured in Penang expressway shooting

Three people were killed while two injured in a shootout on an expressway here today.

In the 7.30pm incident, the victims were in a car on Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu expressway when the incident took place.

One of the victim shot was reportedly a Datuk.

The two injured were a woman and a part-time RTM cameraman, Muhamad Amirul Amin Amir, who was riding pass on a motorbike with his friend at the scene.

Bernama reported that during the shooting, Amirul was on the way to the yearly Pulau Pinang Festival in Sungai Nibong.

Amirul has been sent to Penang hospital and his condition is yet to be ascertained.

George Town OCPD Asst Comm Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said investigations are ongoing.
