Three killed, two seriously injured in car-lorry head on collision

Three teenagers were killed while two others suffered serious injuries when a car collided with an oncoming lorry at KM7.9, Jalan Hamzah, Kuala Kubu Baru, Hulu Selangor, near here, today.

The three who perished in the 10.50am accident were Muhammad Hilal Mohd Isa, 19, the driver of the car (Honda Civic), Omar Hamzah Zulkifli, 19, who was seated in the front seat and Muhammad Addin Firdaus Rashidi, 19, seated in the back seat.

Another passenger in the car, Mohamad Nazren Kamisan, 29, and the driver of the lorry, Sivasalagaram Narayanan, 34, suffered serious injuries.

Muhammad Hilal and Omar Hamzah died at the scene while Muhammad Addin passed away while receiving treatment at the Kuala Kubu Baru Hospital's emergency ward.

Their bodies were sent to the Kuala Kubu Baru Hospital for post-mortem while both the injured were also admitted at the same hospital.

Kuala Kubu Baru district police chief Supt Norel Azmi Yahya when contacted today said the accident happened when the car which was heading to Kuala Kubu Baru lost control and collided with a lorry that was coming from the opposite direction.
