Three people were killed in a landslip at a construction site in Sierra Ukay, Ukay Perdana near Ampang today morning.
This matter was confirmed by the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director of Operations Mohd Sani Harul.
Mohd Sani said the trio who died were workers at the construction site.
"They are Myanmar nationals, in their 30s," Mohd Sani told Astro AWANI.
They are Mohamad Alam Yusup Ali, 33, Abdul Korim Was Korim, 36, and Ramzawihakim Soyotdulah, 26.
Mohd Sani said five other workers were rescued in the 11.30 am incident.
Meanwhile, Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) President Datuk Mohammad Yacob said the incident occurred after soil fell and buried a part of the housing project area.
“Upon investigation, we found that the incident happened because of the negligence of the contractors.
“When doing the escalation of the soil, the contractors did not notice the workers in the slope area that they were working in.
"MPAJ will issue a stop work order today today," he said.
During the incident, all the workers involved were conducting piling works to stabilise the soil structure in a 2 meter high slope.
The bodies were brought to the Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) for a post mortem.
