Three killed when car skids before hitting tree

Three people died when the car they were travelling in skidded before hitting a tree at Km13.7 of the Lebuhraya Damansara Puchong (LDP), near here early this morning.

In the incident about 3am today, the Honda Civic carrying a man and two women was believed to have skidded, said Petaling Jaya OCPD, ACP Mohd Zani Che Din.

He said the deceased were identified as Lee Ka Peng (he), 31, Lee Siew Pheng, 23, and Lai Pei Jian, 25.

"All the victims died at the scene of the incident due to severe injuries," he said in a statement, here today.

The bodies of all the victims were taken to the University of Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) for a post-mortem and the case was investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. -- Bernama
