Three men remanded to assist probe into bribery cases involving PLKS

Three men, including a Pakistani, have been remanded for six days from today to facilitate further investigations into the alleged bribery in the issuance and renewal of temporary work permit (PLKS) for foreign crew members.
The remand order from was issued by the Magistrate's Court Assistant Registrar Puteri Nordina Kamalaudin.
According to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) source, the 46-year-old Pakistani man, who is also the first suspect, was arrested in Tasek at around noon yesterday, while the two local men, aged 57 and 49, were picked up at a restaurant in Meru Raya at 8.10 pm and in Batu Gajah at 12.30 pm.
The source said the three men had acted as an agent and middlemen who allegedly offered bribe to several MyEG Services Bhd (MyEG) personnel to have the PLKS applications for foreign workers be processed without going through the stipulated procedures.
The case is being investigated under Section 16 (b)(A) of the MACC Act 2009.
