Three new COVID-19 clusters recorded on Thursday

KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Health recorded three new clusters that were identified on Thursday of which two were in Kuala Lumpur and one in Ranau, Sabah.
Two new clusters in Kuala Lumpur involved the Cheras district, namely the Jalan Rusa Cluster. MOH detected a positive case through screening test among the population last November.
However, further screening tests until December 17 found that out of 1,267 individuals, 129 of them were positive.
Another cluster in Kuala Lumpur involved the Tapak Bina Pasifik Cluster at a construction site in Lembah Pantai. 17 positive cases were recorded out of the screening test.
The other new cluster recorded on Thursday involved the Maringkan Cluster in the Telupid district in Ranau, Sabah.
It involved an index case (70,580th case) which was found to be positive on December 5. Screening tests conducted until December 17 have detected 11 more individuals found positive out of 93 individuals screened.
The total number of clusters recorded nationwide by the MOH until Thursday is 429 clusters.
Of the total, as many as 41 clusters reported an increase in cases today. The clusters that reported the highest number of new cases were Penjara Jalan Harapan Cluster (98 cases), Jalan Rusa Cluster (57 cases), and Bintang Cluster (50 cases).
