Three new EMCO locations in Sabah, one sub-district each in three states under CMCO - Ismail Sabri

KUALA LUMPUR: The government will be implementing the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) at three new locations in Sabah while Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) will be imposed on one sub-district each in three other states - Negeri Sembilan, Terenggganu and Perak.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the implementation of EMCO would be carried out at the Tawau temporary detention centre (PTS), Sandakan Prison, and Prison Quarters in Taman Wira, Sandakan effective tomorrow (Nov 6) until Nov 19.
“As at Nov 4, screenings by the Health Ministry (MOH) has recorded 440 positive COVID-19 cases involving detainees and staff of Tawau PTS.
The Tawau PTS EMCO will affect 1,707 individuals comprising 1,603 detainees and 104 employees,” he told a media conference on the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) here today.
He said the EMCO in Sandakan Prison and Taman Wira Prison Quarters involved 1,605 individuals made up of 1,308 detainees and 297 staff.
As at noon, MOH had conducted 669 screening tests and recorded 111 positive COVID-19 cases in Sandakan Prison.
Ismail Sabri said the implementation of CMCO would involve Parit Buntar sub-district (Perak), Rasau sub-district, Dungun (Terengganu) and Jimah sub-district, Port Dickson (Negeri Sembilan) effective this Saturday (Nov 7) to Nov 20.
He said MOH had also confirmed 12 positive COVID-19 cases at Parit Buntar sub-district and the CMCO would involve 45,359 residents with a total of 7,847 unit of houses.
“For Rasau sub-district, 25 positive COVID-19 cases were detected and the CMCO in the location would involve 43,687 residents.
In Jimah sub-district, 11 COVID-19 cases were identified and the CMCO would affect 24,540 people,” he said.
Commenting further, Ismail Sabri said the government has decided to extend the EMCO in Anjung Teduh in Felda Sahabat, Lahad Datu, Sabah effective this Saturday (Nov 7) until Nov 20.
He said the measure was decided on the advice of MOH as the location recorded 56 cumulative positive cases.
Before this, the government announced the EMCO at Anjung Teduh from Oct 24 to Nov 6.
Meanwhile, the EMCO in six localities in Semporna and one in Kunak, Sabah would be ending on Nov 6 as scheduled.
The EMCO in Semporna involving Kampung Bangau-Bangau, Kampung Panji, Kampung Air, Kampung Selamat, Kampung Simunul and Kampung Pinggir Bakau as well as Kampung Pangkalan in Kunak would end at midnight tonight (Nov 6).
'’The government also agreed to end the EMCO at Pokok Sena Prison, Kedah on Nov 7 as scheduled.
Screenings by MOH on staff and occupants of quarters also found no new positive cases recorded at Pokok Sena Prison for seven days,” he said.
