Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) has announced three temporary, partial lane closures along Jalan Damansara, Jalan Bukit Bintang and Jalan Cheras, beginning today.

The first closure at Jalan Damansara is to facilitate the construction of the Taman Tun Dr Ismail MRT station and piers which will be implemented, between today and Aug 7, from 10pm to 5am.

In a statement issued here today, MRT Corp said it involved a 450-metre stretch, starting from the former Caltex petrol station to the Syabas water tank (Kuala Lumpur-bound), and would be conducted at night during off-peak hours to minimise traffic impact and ensure the safety of motorists," it added.

The second closure at Jalan Bukit Bintang, located in front of the former Porsche showroom from tomorrow until Aug 29, from 11pm to 5am, was aimed at facilitating water pipe relocation works, it said.

MRT Corp said: "Traffic movement is not expected to be affected as the lane closure will be late at night and into the early hours of the next day, except for Fridays and Saturdays."

The third closure is at Jalan Cheras, near the Maluri Light Rail Transit (LRT) Station, beginning tomorrow until Aug 1 from 10pm to 5am.

"The closure is to facilitate piloting and grouting works and involves a 20-metre stretch towards Jalan Pudu which will be closed in stages. Two lanes will be affected during the closures but only one lane will be closed at any one time," it said.

Hence, MRT Corp advises motorists to drive carefully near MRT worksites and follow directional signs.
