Three-year old girl killed by falling television set
A photo session to fete the Chinese New year celebration took on a tragic note when a television set fell on a three-year-old girl in Perai here on Friday night.
Che Hui Zhen, who sustained head injuries when the 29-inch set fell on her at the family home in Taman Chai Leng, was sent to the Seberang Jaya Hospital.
She died while undergoing emergency treatment about 10.30pm.
Seberang Perai Tengah District police deputy chief Supt Baharom Abu on Saturday said, the incident occurred about 9pm.
He said Hui Zhen was posing in front of the television rack while a family member was preparing to take a photograph when the television set fell on her.
He said the victim was an only child of plumber Chew Hock Soon, 26, and Thai national Phoruethai Sae Lee, 25.
