Batu Member of Parliament (MP), Tian Chua is ready to be called by the authorities to facilitate investigations into the meeting between Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar and Jacel H. Kiram, the daughter of a former Sulu terrorist chief, during which he was present.
"We have no choice...if called, we need to go and cooperate," he told reporters at Parliament lobby here today.
He was commenting on a statement by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi that he (Tian Chua) was responsible for the recent meeting between Nurul Izzah and Jacel, the daughter of Jamalul Kiram III who ordered the attack on Lahad Datu, Sabah in 2013.
However, he denied masterminding the meeting as alleged by Ahmad Zahid, who is also home minister.
Tian Chua stressed that he and Nurul Izzah were in the Philippines on the invitation of various parties, including political parties from that country and they were there in relation to the issue of human rights, and freedom for former opposition head, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
On Nov 9, Jacel had uploaded four photographs in her Facebook account which showed her meeting Nurul Izzah.
In February 2013, a group of intruders from southern Philippines entered Malaysia in a boat and gathered in stages at Felda Sahabat 17, Kampung Tanduo, Lahad Datu.
Following a clash between the terrorist group with Malaysian security forces, two security forces personnel were killed and three injured while 12 armed intruders were shot dead.
Six policemen and two soldiers were also killed in an ambush at a water village in Kampung Simunul, Semporna in an operation in Lahad Datu.
