Tian Chua says respects Sabah ban decision
Tian Chua said he would wait and see if he would also be summoned by the police for further investigation after they had asked Nurul Izzah to give a statement tomorrow evening.
PKR vice-president Tian Chua said today he respected the decision of the Sabah legislative assembly to ban him and fellow vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar from entering the state over their meeting with self-styled Sulu princess Jacel H. Kiram.
"We, no doubt, respect the (decision of the) Sabah and Sarawak governments to ban us from entering (the states) because they have the right to do so ...," he told reporters at the lobby of Parliament House. Tian Chua had been denied entry into Sarawak.
The Batu MP said, however, that the ban should have been at least done based on the protection of the safety and security of Sabahans instead of relying on baseless accusations and allegations by some individuals.
The Sabah legislative assembly today approved a motion to ban Nurul Izzah and Tian Chua from entering the state following the controversial meeting with Jacel.
Jacel had uploaded four photographs of the Nov 9 meeting on her Facebook account, which drew the ire of various quarters in the country.
