The 2050 National Transformation (TN50) town hall session is a good platform for the government to engage Malaysian youths, especially aspiring entrepreneurs, who would shape the country's future.
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Noor Azlan Ghazali said Malaysians could come together as one to give their best support towards the initiative to ensure its successful rollout.
"Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak poses a challenge to Malaysians to make the country as a top 20 nation as this will open up various discussions on what the country needs to achieve that (goal).
"I hope the younger generation will come together and say what they want to see in Malaysia's future because this is exactly why the government created TN50," he told Bernama today.
Last night, Najib engaged youths in the TN50 Prime Dialogue to set the tone for Malaysia to become a top 20 country by 2050.
Noor Azlan said that it was Malaysians' responsibility to shape up the nation and take charge.
"As for my aspiration for Malaysia in 2050, I hope Malaysia would be a place where its citizens continue to have a prosperous life and live harmoniously," he said.
TN50, envisaged by Najib, is a futuristic policy to chart the direction the country in the next 30 years after Vision 2020.
It is the first of a series of similar barnstorming sessions to gather input in striving for the country's progress towards 2050.
Other segments with women, corporate figures, cultural activists, religious scholars and academicians will follow suit. -- BERNAMA
