Toddler dies from abuse in Ipoh

A two-year-old girl is believed to have died of abuse in Menglembu here, Friday morning.

Ipoh District Police chief ACP Sum Chang Keong said police were informed of the death of the child by a nearby health clinic.

"The victim was taken to the clinic by her grandmother after experiencing breathing difficulties," he said in a statement here, today.

Sum said a post-mortem found signs of injuries and bruises on the girl's head.

He said police would record a statement from several witnesses to identify the suspect.
