Beginning October 15, 2015, 18 highway concessionaires nationwide will impose new toll rates, with increases of between 10 sen and RM3.
The new rates will involve the Kajang Ring Road (SILK), SMART Highway, Highway Maju Expressway (MEX), Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (DUKE), KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway (LATAR), New Pantai Expressway (NPE), Sungai Besi Expressway (BESRAYA), Ampang Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH), Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE), Kemuning-Shah Alam Expressway (LKSA) and Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway (KLK), Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP), Kajang–Seremban Highway (LEKAS), Senai–Desaru Expressway, SPRINT Highway, the Cheras-Kajang Highway (Grand Saga) and the South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE).
ANIH Berhad spokesman said the new toll rates KLK Gombak toll plaza is RM6 (class one), RM12 (class two), RM18 (class three), RM3 (class four), while class five remains at RM5.
"For Bentong Toll Plaza, class one is RM3.50, class two RM7, class three RM10.50, class four RM1.80, and class five remains at RM3," he said as quoted in Bernama, here, today.
Class one is for cars, class two for trucks weighing less than a tonne, class three for large trucks and trailers, class four for taxis and class five for buses.
Meanwhile, for MEX Highway, Maju Expressway Sdn Bhd in a statement said the new toll rates for Salak Selatan toll plaza is RM2 (class one), RM4 (class two), RM6 (class three), RM1 (class four) and RM1.50 (class five).
The new rates for Putrajaya toll plaza is RM3.50 (class one), RM7 (class two), RM10.50 (class three), RM1.80 (class four) and RM2.50 (class five).
For the Kajang-Silk Highway the rates are RM1.80 (class one), RM3.60 (class two), RM5.40 (class three) and 90 cents (class four) and RM1 (class five), according to a statement from SILK Holdings Berhad.
For DUKE, Konsortium Lebuhraya Utara-Timur (KL) Sdn Bhd said the new toll rates for Ayer Panas Toll Plaza, Sentul Pasar Toll Plaza and Sungai Batu Toll Plaza are RM2.50 for class one, RM3.80 (class two), RM5 (class three), RM1.30 (class four) and class five remains at RM1.30.
For SMART Tunnel Highway, the new toll rate is RM3.
For LATAR, the KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway Berhad said the new toll rates for highways involves Ijok Toll Plaza, Kuang Timur Toll Plaza, Kuang Barat Toll Plaza and Templer Toll Plaza are RM2.50 for class one, RM5 (class two), RM7 (class three), RM1.30 (class four) while class five remains at RM2.
BESRAYA (M) Sdn Bhd also announced a new toll rate involving the Mines Toll Plaza (North and South) - RM2 for class one, RM4 (class two), RM4 (class three), and RM2 (class four), and class five remaines at RM1.30.
For NPE, the New Pantai Expressway Sdn Bhd said in a statement, the new toll rates for Pantai Dalam Toll Plaza and PJS5 Toll Plaza for the class one is RM2.30, RM4.60 (class two), RM6.90 (class three), RM1. 20 (class four) and class five stays at RM1.60.
For the Grand Saga Highway, Grand Saga Sdn Bhd said in a statement, the new toll rates the Batu 9 Toll Plaza will increase by RM0.30 for class one vehicles while at the Batu 11 Toll Plaza, the toll rate for class one vehicles will increase by RM0.40.
Meanwhile SKVE Holdings Sdn Bhd said in a statement today, the new toll rates, effective October 15, 2015, would affect all class vehicles except for class five which are buses.
Butterworth Outer Ring Road (LLB) in a statement said that the new toll hike is between ten cents to RM1.60.
LLB’s General manager, Adnan Ariffin said the class one rate in Perai Plaza Toll is RM1.50, class two RM3, class three, RM4.50.
In Bagan Ajam Plaza Toll, the rate for class one is RM1.50, class two is RM3 and class three is RM4.50.
In Sg Nyior Plaza Toll, the new rate for class one is RM1.20, class two is RM2.40 and class three is RM3.60.
Meanwhile, Bernama reported that the toll rates at all eight PLUS-operated highways remain unchanged.
The news agency also quoted the Works Ministry as saying that the toll rate adjustments starting Thursday only involve highways in the city.
The last toll hike was on March 1, 2009, involving the North-South Highway (PLUS), SPRINT Highway, AKLEH, BESRAYA and NPE. while no increase involving other toll concession companies since 2008.
