PPBM chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad will be called up by the police over the alleged conversation that took place between him and Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on toppling Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim said they have received report from both parties, adding that police have opened an investigation paper over it.
He said the case will be investigated under the Penal Code Section 500.
He said the report on the alleged conversation will also be handed over to the prosecutor for further action.
"Don't worry, we will go through the report thoroughly and will hand over to the prosecutor to decide," he said at a press conference after opening the PDRM Green Day 2017, here today.
On Friday, Ahmad Zahid who is also the deputy prime minister denied of being part of any conspiracy to topple Najib.
Ahmad Zahid said he has a recording of the conversation in which Dr Mahathir had suggested that Najib be removed from office via vote of no confidence in the Parliament.
Earlier, Dr Mahathir claimed that Ahmad Zahid had met him to seek support to become the Prime Minister.
