Toyota takes over Mitsui Outlet Park

Here’s your chance to get up close and personal with a race-tuned Toyota 86 model! At Toyota’s new store in Mitsui Outlet Park of course.

If you’ve been around the vicinity of Sepang you would have noticed that there is a new mall that just opened known as Mitsui Outlet Park. You won’t miss it, it’s one of the largest outlet malls in Southeast Asia. And in the mall, Toyota is exploring a brand new concept known to them as the “store in a mall”.

The “store in a mall” concept represents a new initiative by Toyota to better engage with their customers by blending into the everyday lives of people. The aim is to promote brand interaction with customers in a relaxed upmarket environment. The retail store setup has also allowed Toyota to develop new sales prospect in ways which were never possible with the usual showroom setup.

Set in the “Garage and Motorsports” theme, customers will be able to purchase TRD merchandise items as well as explore Toyota’s latest models like the Vios and the Hilux. And in line with the launch of the shop, Toyota has also brought in a racing Toyota 86 model. The race-tuned 86 is the same car that is currently competing in Malaysia Championship Series 2015 as well as last year’s Merdeka Endurance Race.

Speaking at the opening of the Toyota store at the Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA Sepang, Datuk Ismet Suki, President of UMW Toyota Motor said, “We congratulate Mitsui Outlet Park on the opening of their first outlet mall in Malaysia. Like Toyota, Mitsui Fudosan is a leader in its field and shares the same core values of striving to meet the needs of our customers.”

He also said, “Our presence in one of Southeast Asia’s largest outlet malls represents a new approach to better engage with our customers as we strive to maintain our No.1 position in the J.D Power Sales Satisfaction Index.”
