To allow the crisis drill exercise that will be carried out from 11.30pm on 14 June to 3am on 15 June 2013, traffic will be diverted away from the main entrance of Stesen Sentral Kuala Lumpur (SSKL).
The exercise called “Ex-Sentral 13” will be conducted within SSKL and will involve cordoning off a whole stretch of road in front of the station’s main entrance, which faces the Hilton KL and Le Meridien hotels.
Auxiliary Police (AP) will be posted at either end of the closed stretch to redirect traffic and allow police, firefighters and emergency medical teams to park their vehicles along the main entrance, in order for them to be close to a “fire & explosion” incident that is the scenario for the exercise.
All access roads into Kuala Lumpur Sentral CBD from Jalan Travers, Jalan Damansara, Lebuhraya Mahameru and Jalan Tun Sambanthan will still be opened but motorists are advised to follow the directions given by APs at five roadblocks set up around the station.
For motorists who want to send or fetch passengers from the station, a special pick-up and drop-off zone will be provided in front of the 1 Sentral office tower (refer location map). The fastest and shortest access to the pick-up zone will be via Jalan Tun Sambanthan.
