Traffic flow was reported to be smooth on roads leading to the city centre despite the closure of certain roads for the KL City Grand Prix 2015 which begins today.
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Legal Staff officer, DSP S. Markandan said traffic flow was smooth along Jalan Tun Razak, the Sultan Iskandar Highway (formerly Mahameru Highway), Pahang Roundabout, Jalan Pahang and the Federal Highway.
"So far, traffic is under control and some 90 police officers and personnel have been stationed around the city to ensure smooth flow while the race is taking place," he said when contacted by Bernama today.
Jalan Ampang to KLCC, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Perak and Jalan P. Ramlee will be closed to traffic from 6am to 6pm from today to Sunday for the event.
It was previously reported that Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd, which operates the Rapid KL LRT and monorail services, will deploy more trains for this purpose this weekend.
